Bomb threat during Organic Chemistry?
"Excuse me Professor? I just got a text saying there is a bomb threat in Aubert Hall." Everyone files outside, beliefs that this is just a lame excuse from a student who had to miss class. A bomb threat at 9am, really? We head out the door, surprised that we got a text and wondering why some students didn't, when we notice the front of the building is completely taped off, the roads are blocked by lighted police cars and there is a police official directing us beyond the tape because it's not safe near the building. Maybe its the rebellious spirit of the college aged that gets me riled. Why were we the last to know? We were inside the building and the police had time to blockade the street and put up yellow tape and we were informed by text? The response to preventing students and visitors from approaching the building was obviously thorough and quick, but those students most in danger were not given the same level of care. With Virginia Tech being found guilty of negligence it should be a top priority to tend to those most in need first.
